2026 Safety Coordinator Essentials - Tifton, GA
Safety Coordinator Essentials is a comprehensive training program designed to equip local government safety coordinators with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to develop, implement, and manage an effective safety program. Participants will gain a clear understanding of the duties and responsibilities of the safety coordinator, including hazard identification, safety training, inspections, and accident/incident investigations. The course emphasizes proactive loss prevention through safety rules, self-inspections, and risk assessment practices that help reduce employee injuries, public liability exposures, and financial losses. In addition, participants will explore motor vehicle safety and maintenance, focusing on policies, procedures, inspections, and documentation practices that address one of the leading causes of property and liability claims in local government operations. The program also covers accident investigation techniques, root cause analysis, and loss trend evaluation to identify opportunities for corrective action. Finally, attendees will learn how to develop a comprehensive Safety Action Plan that transforms findings into measurable goals, outlines corrective actions, and secures leadership commitment to ensure accountability, continuous improvement, and long-term safety success.
